Vladimir Solovyov issues threats against Germany and Friedrich Merz

Russian state media propagandist Vladimir Solovyov has issued verbal insults and threats against Germany and its Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, during a broadcast on Rossiya 1. The outburst was a reaction to Merz’s calls for Russia to cease its military aggression in Ukraine and engage in peace negotiations.

Solovyov directed personal insults at Merz, questioning his legitimacy and authority to make demands of Russia. The rhetoric escalated into broader threats against the German nation, with Solovyov suggesting Germany could face a fate similar to Carthage and warning of a potential “radioactive wasteland.”

Solovyov, a prominent Kremlin media figure, has a history of aggressive rhetoric toward NATO members and Germany. He is currently subject to sanctions by the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
