Vladimiro Mimica presents autobiography in Punta Arenas

Journalist, sports commentator, and former mayor of Punta Arenas, Vladimiro Mimica Cárcamo, has returned to his hometown to present his autobiography, ‘Tuya, mía, para ti y para mí. Una vida compartida’.

Published by Editorial Catalonia, the book chronicles over eight decades of his life, covering his childhood in Magallanes, his early radio career, and his extensive journey in sports journalism. The memoir also touches upon his time in public service and significant historical moments in Chile, including his detention at the National Stadium following the 1973 coup d'état and his subsequent clandestine departure from the country.

The work includes recollections of encounters with prominent figures such as Pelé, Diego Maradona, Salvador Allende, and Pepe Mujica. The book features a prologue written by Chilean author Alejandro Zambra and was presented at the XXVIII ‘Dinko Pavlov’ Book Fair at the Municipal Cultural Center of Punta Arenas.
