Vladislav Goranov confirms property lease to firm under corruption probe
Former Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov has confirmed that his consulting firm, Trilema Consulting EOOD, leased property to KVM Systems for Road Safety. This admission follows allegations made by Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev regarding corruption in public procurement contracts for road safety equipment, specifically high-visibility vests.
Demerdzhiev stated that four companies have established a monopoly in this sector, generating significant financial resources through contracts indexed at over 150 million euros. The Minister suggested these companies have ties to political figures and diplomatic representatives, describing the circles as oligarchic.
Goranov defended the transaction, stating the lease was conducted on purely commercial terms at a rate of 1,000 euros per month and was properly declared. He suggested the Minister's revelations likely stemmed from these disclosed rental records. Demerdzhiev further noted the political connection between Goranov and former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.
