BDI protests mural defacement and lack of Albanian language rights in North Macedonia

The Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) has raised multiple grievances regarding the treatment of the Albanian language and ethnic symbols in North Macedonia.

The BDI's Çair branch condemned the defacement of murals in Çair featuring Adem Jashari, Komandant Teli, and the UÇK emblem. The party described this as a "serious provocation" occurring during the anniversary of Komandant Teli's death and called on the Ministry of Internal Affairs to identify the perpetrators. BDI also cited the removal of the Albanian language from state signs in Tabanoc as evidence of a deteriorating atmosphere.

Additionally, BDI reported a scandal involving the North Macedonian government, alleging that 83 consecutive government sessions over the past 11 months have lacked minutes published in the Albanian language. The party is demanding accountability and the immediate publication of all missing documentation in Albanian to comply with the Law on the Use of Languages.
