Vålerenga secures dramatic draw against Fredrikstad

Vålerenga secured a dramatic 1-1 draw against Fredrikstad at Intility Arena, preventing a loss during a difficult period for the club. Solomon Owusu put Fredrikstad ahead in the 51st minute, but Sebastian Jarl scored the equalizer for Vålerenga in the 71st minute.

The match saw significant tension late in the second half when a goal by Fredrikstad was disallowed for offside. Following a VAR review, Isak Helstad Amundsen received a red card for preventing a breakaway opportunity.

The result leaves Vålerenga four points above the direct relegation zone. The club has struggled for form recently, having not won an Eliteserien match since July 26.
