Vélez Sarsfield pursues Boca Juniors striker Milton Giménez

Vélez Sarsfield has initiated contact with Boca Juniors to attempt the signing of striker Milton Giménez. The move comes at the request of Vélez coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto, who seeks to bolster his attacking options following the departure of Florián Monzón and inconsistent performances from other players.

Negotiations are currently in the early stages, with no formal offer yet submitted. Boca Juniors is expected to demand a satisfactory economic proposal to release the 30-year-old forward, who has faced physical challenges including surgery for pubalgia earlier in 2026.

Meanwhile, Boca Juniors is managing the integration of new signing Enner Valencia. The club and coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena are taking a cautious approach to his debut, prioritizing his physical conditioning to ensure he is at 100% before playing. Valencia, who joined from Pachuca, remains sidelined from recent match squads as he works toward full fitness.
