V/Line services disrupted by track fault in Footscray

A track fault at Footscray has caused significant disruption to V/Line services in Melbourne, affecting the Bendigo, Ballarat, and Geelong regional lines.

As of the report, 44 services have been cancelled and 25 are delayed, with an additional 10 trains altered to terminate early or originate from different stations. V/Line warned passengers that journeys could be extended by up to 130 minutes.

Replacement coaches have been deployed between Werribee and Wyndham Vale, as well as between Southern Cross and Caroline Springs. Technical teams are currently working to resolve the fault.
