Vlorë wildfire threatens homes and triggers ammunition explosions

A large wildfire broke out around 04:30 in the area between the villages of Bunavi and Grabian in Vlorë, Albania. Driven by strong winds, the flames spread rapidly toward Grabian, temporarily threatening three inhabited homes and causing significant damage to local vegetation, including dozens of century-old olive trees and various fruit trees.

Fire service chief Luan Kapaj stated that while the immediate risk to residential buildings has passed, the fire remains active and carries the potential to spread further. Additionally, the blaze triggered explosions of military ammunition left in the area from the 1997 conflict.
