Vlora historical center faces risks from new museum construction

Concerns have been raised regarding the impact of the new Jewish Museum construction on the historical center of Vlora. Critics argue that the modern architecture and massive foundations of the new museum are threatening the structural integrity of the adjacent Ethnographic Museum.

Reports indicate that the construction of retaining walls and large foundations has caused cracks in the Ethnographic Museum building, posing a risk of collapse and obstructing its architectural features, including several windows. While the Prime Minister has announced 200,000 euros for the modernization of the Ethnographic Museum, critics argue that modernization should focus on restoration rather than modern additions that clash with the city's historical identity.
