Vlorë hotel fire injures six people, including five Kosovar citizens

A major fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday at the Brooklyn Hotel in the Lungomare area of Vlorë, Albania. The blaze reportedly began in a first-floor bar-restaurant and spread to the second floor, which houses the hotel, as well as the building's facade.

At least six people were injured in the incident. Five of the victims are citizens of Kosovo, while one is from Rrësheni. Several individuals had to jump from the second-floor balconies to escape the smoke and flames, resulting in spinal fractures. Medical reports indicate the severity of the injuries, noting that one female patient is in critical condition with burns covering nearly 100% of her body, and another sustained burns over 50% of her body. Some victims were transported to Tirana for specialized treatment.

Police investigations, including a review of security camera footage, have determined that the fire was accidental. The cause has been identified as an electrical outlet in a refrigerator located within the restaurant area.
