Vlora Hyseni accused of leaking secrets to criminal groups

Former Democratic Party deputy Ervin Salianji has commented on the Special Anti-Corruption Structure (SPAK) investigations involving former SHISH director Vlora Hyseni. Salianji alleged that Hyseni provided secret information to criminal groups, a claim he noted is unprecedented.

Salianji also addressed the European Union Delegation's statement supporting SPAK in its fight against crime, suggesting that the EU's diplomatic language regarding Hyseni should be viewed in light of recent political and institutional developments. He criticized Hyseni's professional standards and compared her leadership of the intelligence service to previous directors, such as Helidon Bendo, noting significant shifts in institutional functioning and international relations during her tenure.

In a separate political critique, discussions have surfaced regarding the historical impact of the Democratic Party's leadership on Albania's national security services. Critics argue that past administrative decisions led to the dismantling of professional intelligence networks and the replacement of trained agents with political affiliates.
