VMRO-DPMNE criticizes SDS over economic predictions

The VMRO-DPMNE political party has issued a sharp critique of the SDS government, accusing them of spreading panic and "apocalyptic scenarios" regarding the nation's economy. The opposition claims that previous warnings from the SDS regarding state bankruptcy, mass migration, rising public debt, and inflation have failed to materialize.

VMRO-DPMNE highlighted that public debt is at a historic low and noted that inflation in September stood at 2.7%. They further cited Eurostat data indicating that Macedonia had the lowest average annual inflation rate in the region for the third quarter of 2026, at 2.5%. The opposition also dismissed recent warnings from former Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jovanka Trenčevska regarding cost-of-living increases and wage sufficiency, labeling them as attempts to mask previous policy failures.
