VMRO-DPMNE defends North Macedonia pension system stability

The VMRO-DPMNE political party has issued a statement defending the stability of the pension system in North Macedonia, responding to claims of financial instability made by the SDSM opposition.

VMRO-DPMNE asserts that pensions have increased by approximately 7,000 denars in less than two years. The party contrasted this with the period between 2017 and 2019 under SDSM rule, during which they claim pensions only rose by 540 denars and over 200,000 pensioners lived on less than 14,000 denars.

The ruling party maintains that the pension fund remains stable and that the state budget ensures timely payments, similar to models used in other European nations. They accused the opposition of spreading panic among retirees for political gain.
