VMRO-DPMNE lawmaker accuses SDSM of causing 30 million euro loss
Ljupcho Prendzov, a lawmaker from the VMRO-DPMNE party, has alleged that letters sent by former SDSM official Kire Naumov to international banks and financial institutions cost North Macedonia 30 million euros.
Prendzov claims that during 2015 and 2016, while a technical government was in place, Naumov sent correspondence to various banks and international funds warning of potential government collapse. According to Prendzov, these warnings suggested that loans might not be repaid, which resulted in the state securing credit at significantly higher interest rates.
Prendzov further accused SDSM President Venko Filipce of employing similar tactics by spreading warnings regarding the current financial state of the country. He also criticized the previous prosecution for failing to investigate the circumstances of the higher interest rates, noting that the prosecutor involved at the time later became a bank director.
