VMRO-DPMNE opposes constitutional changes under Bulgarian influence
VMRO-DPMNE spokesperson Valentin Manasievski has declared the party's opposition to proposed constitutional amendments, labeling them as being under ‘Bulgarian dictate’. Speaking on Kanal 5, Manasievski criticized previous administrations for accepting terms regarding the inclusion of Bulgarians in the constitution without having the necessary mechanisms to implement them in Parliament.
Manasievski questioned why such conditions were accepted in 2022 if they did not guarantee North Macedonia's entry into the European Union and NATO. He argued that the current government's policy is more transparent and responsible compared to the previous administration, which he accused of making decisions that did not serve the national interest. He emphasized that without the support of VMRO-DPMNE, these constitutional changes will not proceed, and stressed the need for guarantees to prevent Bulgaria from exercising future vetoes on other critical issues.
