VMRO-DPMNE reports declining inflation and new school supply price controls
The VMRO-DPMNE party has issued a statement regarding the current economic situation in North Macedonia, claiming that inflation has decreased to 2.3 percent according to the State Statistical Office. The party contrasted this with the previous SDS government, during which they claim inflation reached 16 percent.
To assist with the start of the school year, the VMRO-DPMNE-led government has implemented measures requiring wholesale traders to reduce prices of school supplies by at least 10 percent and retailers to reduce them by at least 15 percent. These measures cover items such as backpacks, notebooks, and stationery.
Additionally, the party stated that fuel derivative prices remain among the lowest in the region despite global crises in the Middle East, noting that sufficient fuel supplies are being imported from neighboring countries.
