VN-Index rises toward 1,800 mark led by real estate stocks
The Vietnamese stock market experienced a significant surge, with the VN-Index rising over 20 points to reach 1,788.78 points. This upward momentum was primarily driven by large-cap stocks, particularly within the real estate sector. Vingroup's VIC and Vinhomes' VHM played decisive roles, contributing significantly to the index's gains.
Market liquidity improved markedly, with trading value on the HoSE exceeding 20,000 billion VND. Foreign investors also shifted to net buying after a period of selling. While the real estate and energy sectors showed strength, there was notable divergence in the banking and technology sectors, where some blue-chip stocks faced selling pressure.
In individual stock news, PNJ saw a sharp rise in share price following investigations that clarified the company's legal standing regarding a diamond smuggling case, confirming that the disputed goods were not part of its retail system. Additionally, several corporate leaders, including the CEO of PNJ and the Chairman of MWG, have been active in purchasing company shares.
