Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám fashion competition crowns top designer
The fashion design competition ‘Khoa phục Việt Nam: Designing Costumes Inspired by Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám’ concluded with an awards ceremony on September 4 in Hanoi. The event was organized by the Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám Cultural and Scientific Activity Center in collaboration with various fashion design universities to commemorate the 950th anniversary of the historic site.
Nguyễn Thùy Linh, a fashion design student at the Hanoi University of Architecture, won the top prize, the ‘Typical Design - Cultural Spirit’ award. Her winning piece, titled ‘Văn Uyên’, was inspired by the spirit of lifelong learning found in the Analects of Confucius and Vietnam’s traditional academic values.
The competition received over 100 entries from design and fine arts students across the country. It aimed to encourage young designers to reinterpret historical heritage and the tradition of academic examinations through contemporary fashion language.
