VN30 companies drive 75% of HOSE profits in Q2 2026

Thirty companies within the VN30 basket accounted for approximately 75% of the total after-tax profit on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) during the second quarter of 2026. Out of 396 listed companies, 366 reported profits, while 30 posted losses, resulting in a total exchange profit of roughly VND 220 trillion ($8.4 billion).

The VN30 group's combined profit grew by 17.9% compared to the first quarter, totaling approximately VND 165 trillion. This growth was heavily driven by two major entities: Vingroup (VIC) and Vietcombank (VCB), which together contributed nearly 57% of the total profit increase. Vingroup reported an after-tax profit of over VND 14.7 trillion, a 2.6-fold increase from the previous quarter, bolstered by gains from the disposal of financial investments and subsidiary transfers. Vietcombank's profit rose 53.8% to over VND 14.5 trillion, primarily due to a 35% increase in net interest income.

In contrast, Hoa Phat (HPG) saw a significant decline in profit, with after-tax earnings dropping 29% to VND 6.4 trillion.
