VNeID app expands digital services and fee exemptions in Vietnam
Vietnam is expanding the digital utility of the VNeID application to facilitate administrative procedures and digital citizenship. Under Government Resolution No. 66.22, citizens with Level 2 electronic identification accounts can benefit from fee and charge exemptions or reductions when performing online administrative tasks, provided they integrate five essential types of information: birth certificates, payment account information (bank accounts, e-wallets, or mobile money), social security accounts, mobile subscriber information, and electronic health records.
The Ministry of Public Security has introduced new features allowing users to integrate payment accounts and designate them as accounts for receiving social security benefits directly within the app. Additionally, the platform has begun integrating land use rights certificates (red books) in certain provinces like Hanoi and Thanh Hoa, allowing users to verify land-related data digitally.
Authorities have released version 2.2.11 of the app, which includes updated public services and improved reporting features. Users are advised to update their software via the App Store or Google Play. Officials also issued warnings against scammers impersonating police officers to solicit OTP codes or personal data under the guise of updating VNeID information.
