VNG Corporation announces ESOP issuance for employees
VNG Corporation, the owner of the messaging application Zalo, has announced an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) for 2026. The company plans to issue 709,970 shares to 660 employees at a price of 30,000 VND per share.
This issuance price represents approximately a 95% discount compared to the market price of VNG shares, which stood at 603,000 VND on the UpCOM exchange during the morning session of August 28. The total expected proceeds from the issuance are nearly 21.3 billion VND. The shares issued under this program will be subject to a one-year transfer restriction.
High-level executives are included in the list of participants, such as Co-founder and Vice Chairman Vuong Quang Khai, Deputy General Director Nguyen Le Thanh, and Deputy General Director Truong Thi Thanh.
In the first six months of 2026, VNG reported net revenue of nearly 5,871 billion VND and a profit after tax of over 659 billion VND, representing increases of 29% and over 27 times respectively compared to the same period last year. The company attributed this growth primarily to online gaming services and internet-based value-added services.
