Vietnam leadership holds meetings on economic policy and energy security

Vietnamese leadership conducted several high-level meetings on September 14 and 15, 2026, focusing on economic policy, energy, and infrastructure. General Secretary and President Tô Lâm chaired a session regarding new regulations for Party members engaged in the private economy, emphasizing that such participation should reflect modern economic realities without granting unfair business privileges.

Deputy Prime Minister Phạm Gia Túc met with Vietnam Electricity (EVN) to discuss restructuring the state utility into a large-scale, competitive economic group capable of ensuring national energy security. Additionally, the Deputy Prime Minister approved the development of a pre-feasibility study for a Railway Industrial Complex, tasking the Ministry of Construction and Ministry of Finance with the project's advancement.

At the local level, various provincial and municipal leaders held periodic citizen reception sessions to resolve grievances related to land disputes, infrastructure delays, and teacher placement policies. In the maritime sector, the Vietnam Fisheries Association discussed collaborating with Nha Trang University to launch the Marine Economy Forum (MEF) for the 2026–2030 period, aiming to connect scientific research with maritime policy and technology.
