Vocational Tech Training Programs Launch in Spain and Colombia Target Youth Employment

In Spain, a private vocational school network has expanded its technical training offerings to address the high unemployment rate among young people and the shortage of skilled workers in sectors such as IT, programming, administration and finance. The program integrates active professionals into teaching, emphasizes project‑based learning and close links with companies, and aims to reduce the gap between curricula and workplace demands.

In Colombia, Claro and the University of La Sabana have created the "Semillero Comercial" program, a 18‑month initiative that combines classroom instruction and on‑the‑job training in sales and customer‑service roles. The scheme provides certified technical training, apprenticeships at Claro’s service centers and the possibility of long‑term employment for up to 160 young participants across several Colombian cities.

Both programmes seek to improve youth employability by delivering industry‑relevant skills, practical experience and direct pathways to first‑job opportunities in the technology and commercial sectors.
