Youth vocational training initiatives launched in Chad and Haiti
In Chad, the National Office for Employment Promotion (ONAPE) and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) have launched a professional training program for 75 young people. The initiative focuses on three key market sectors: metal construction, building electricity, and masonry, aiming to improve employability and socio-professional integration.
In Haiti, 600 young people from Cité Soleil have completed a 30-day free vocational training program covering cosmetology, event decoration, mobile phone repair, leatherworking, and screen printing. Following the training, the participants have called on the Haitian government for support, specifically requesting professional starter kits, technical assistance, and access to microfinancing to transform their new skills into economic opportunities and small businesses.
