Rio de Janeiro launches tourism influencer program and urban initiatives

Rio de Janeiro is implementing several initiatives to boost its tourism and urban revitalization. The municipal government has launched a selection process for ten digital influencers to serve as tourism ambassadors for 12 months. Candidates must have at least 100,000 followers and will be responsible for promoting the city's cultural agenda, including festivals, shows, and public events.

In the city's historic center, Beco do Bragança is emerging as a new cultural hub, featuring art galleries, design shops, and bars. The area is seeing a resurgence of interest in historic buildings, supported by local businesses and residents.

Additionally, Orla Rio, the concessionaire managing beach kiosks, has begun replacing plastic bottles with aluminum cans to improve sustainability. This partnership with Mamba Water aims to prevent the consumption of approximately 800,000 plastic bottles this year. The initiative also includes a social component, where one liter of water is donated to vulnerable communities for every can sold.

In São Paulo, the Public Ministry has rejected appeals against an agreement that allows for large-scale events on Avenida Paulista. This decision enables the city to expand its event calendar, including international shows, provided that strict rules for mobility, security, and urban cleaning are followed.
