Vodafone introduces FRITZ!Box 5630 Wi-Fi 7 router

Vodafone is adding the FRITZ!Box 5630 to its router lineup for fiber optic customers starting September 29. This new model replaces the previous FRITZ!Box 5530 and introduces support for the Wi-Fi 7 standard.

By utilizing Wi-Fi 7, the FRITZ!Box 5630 aims to provide higher data rates, lower latency, and more stable connections compared to the Wi-Fi 6 standard used by its predecessor. The router features an integrated fiber optic modem supporting both GPON and AON connections. It offers combined WLAN data rates of up to 3.6 Gbit/s using the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, though it does not include the 6 GHz band.

Hardware specifications include a 2.5 Gbit/s network connection, three Gigabit ports, USB 3.0, an integrated telephone system, and a DECT base for smart home devices. Customers can rent the device for 6.99 euros per month or purchase it for a one-time fee of 159.90 euros when paired with a GigaZuhause fiber optic tariff.
