Vodafone launches 48-month mobile payment plans in Australia
Vodafone has launched Australia’s first 48-month interest-free mobile device payment plan. The move comes as research indicates Australian consumers are keeping smartphones for longer periods, with the number of users holding devices for four years or more doubling since 2021.
The extended repayment term is intended to help customers manage the rising costs of flagship devices. For example, an iPhone 18 Pro 256GB that would cost $88 per month on a 24-month plan would cost $44 per month under the new 48-month arrangement.
Industry trends show that hardware is increasingly designed for longevity, with many Android and Apple devices now offering up to seven or eight years of operating system updates. Vodafone’s new plan joins existing 12, 24, and 36-month options to provide more flexibility for consumers.
