Vodafone launches Finetwork brand in Spain as dispute with Wewi continues

Vodafone Spain announced the commercial launch of the Finetwork brand, opening a dedicated website to sell low‑cost mobile tariffs using its own network and 5G coverage. The rollout includes three simple mobile plans and the company says it will expand the offering to convergent fibre and mobile services in the coming months.

The launch comes amid a legal dispute with virtual operator Wewi Mobile, which previously marketed services under the Finetwork name. Although Vodafone acquired the Finetwork trademark in April, a court decision allows Wewi to continue using the brand until 10 October, meaning two competing offers will coexist under the same name for a short period. The conflict stems from unpaid network rental fees and subsequent ownership battles over Wewi's assets.

Vodafone aims to strengthen its low‑cost segment and preserve the brand’s market position, while the temporary dual‑branding situation is described as unprecedented in the Spanish telecom market.
