Vodafone Spain and Livelink Motor partner on IoT motorcycle safety

Vodafone Spain and Livelink Motor have partnered to enhance motorcyclist safety through the use of Internet of Things (IoT) technology. By integrating Vodafone's IoT connectivity into Livelink's Komobi solution, the system can convert trip data into actionable safety information.

In the event of an accident, the Komobi device is designed to detect a fall and automatically trigger an alert to emergency services (112) without requiring intervention from the rider. This continuous digital connection also provides users with access to telemetry data, statistics, and routing information throughout their journey.

According to data from the Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT), motorcyclists represent one in four road accident victims in Spain, with over 400 fatalities and 30,000 injuries recorded annually. Livelink currently manages over 70,000 connected devices in Europe, recording more than 5,000 accidents and 500 emergency alerts to 112 each year. The Komobi service has been launched in Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, and the Netherlands.
