Vodafone Spain boosts rural 5G connectivity and data centre capacity
Vodafone Enterprises is expanding broadband and 5G services in Galicia, where 68 new towers will bring mobile and fibre‑based connectivity to about 5,000 rural residents. The rollout supports small businesses, smart‑city utilities such as water‑leak detection and adaptive street‑lighting, and leverages satellite links, 5G and IoT to enhance logistics and health services.
In parallel, Vodafone Spain has signed a five‑year strategic agreement with Dell Technologies to enlarge the capacity of its data‑centres across the country. Using Dell APEX’s consumption‑based model, the partnership will add storage, improve energy efficiency and support AI, cloud and edge workloads. Carlos Becker, Vodafone Business head, said the deal “is a key milestone to reinforce Spain’s digital backbone,” while Dell’s Isabel Reis highlighted the collaboration’s aim to “provide scalable, resilient infrastructure for Spanish organisations.”
