Vodafone Sultanlar Ligi begins 43rd season in Turkey

The 43rd season of the Vodafone Sultanlar Ligi is set to begin, featuring 14 teams across seven Turkish cities. The opening matches include a high-profile derby between defending champion VakıfBank and Beşiktaş at the VakıfBank Spor Sarayı. Additionally, the match between Türk Hava Yolları and Galatasaray Daikin will be broadcast live and free of charge on TRT Spor, alongside the VakıfBank-Beşiktaş fixture.

This season introduces a change to the foreign player rule: teams may now include up to six foreign players in their 14-person match rosters, though a maximum of three may be on the court simultaneously. The league schedule includes the first half ending on December 13, with the regular season concluding on March 20, 2027, followed by play-offs in April. Newcomers to the league this season include Afyon Belediye Yüntaş and Manisa Büyükşehir Belediyespor.
