Vodafone transitions free TV services to DVB-C standard in Czechia

Vodafone is transitioning its free television services in certain residential buildings from the DVB-T standard to the DVB-C digital cable standard. This change affects residents who previously received basic programming via a shared antenna without a paid subscription.

In Pardubice, the broadcast ended between late September and October, while in Cheb, the shutdown is scheduled for October 29. The transition means viewers must re-tune their devices. While most modern televisions with DVB-C tuners can handle the change by selecting 'Cable' as the signal source, older models may require a specific cable set-top box. The new multiplex includes approximately forty unencrypted programs from groups such as Nova, Prima, and Seznam.
