Vogelsbergkreis increases annual sports funding to 250,000 euros

The Vogelsbergkreis district plans to significantly increase its sports funding, raising the annual budget from 50,000 euros to 250,000 euros starting next year. This initiative, as announced by District Administrator Dr. Jens Mischak, aims to provide an additional 1 million euros over the next five years through 2031.

The funding structure is being reorganized: the portion dedicated exclusively to sports clubs will increase from 50,000 to 150,000 euros annually. Additionally, 100,000 euros per year will be made available to cities and municipalities to support sports facilities under their ownership. If funds from the municipal allocation are not utilized, they will be redirected to local clubs.
