Vogošća association marks International Day of the Disappeared

The Association of Families of the Missing of Vogošća Municipality will mark the International Day of the Disappeared on August 30 by installing a silhouette of a missing person at the Defenders' Square in Vogošća.

Ema Čekić, president of the association, stated that the initiative aims to encourage the public and relevant institutions to engage more actively in the search for individuals missing from the 1992–1995 war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Čekić emphasized that even grim information is preferable to uncertainty, as it would allow families to locate remains and provide dignified burials. She noted that while some individuals who know the fates of the missing remain silent, the association will continue its efforts to seek answers.
