Voice of Women Conference to focus on leadership and political participation

The Voice of Women Empowerment Foundation (VOWEF), in partnership with Women Radio WFM 91.7, will host the 10th Voice of Women Conference and Awards (VOW2026) on October 6, 2026, in Lagos, Nigeria. Themed ‘A Decade of Voices and Impact’, the anniversary event aims to address women’s political participation, leadership, and representation.

The conference is expected to draw participants from Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, including policymakers, civil society organizations, and grassroots women. Key attendees include Senator George Akume, Apostle Folorunso Alakija, and Erelu Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi. Discussions will focus on intergenerational leadership and women’s involvement in the 2027 elections.

In addition to political dialogue, the event will feature the VOW2026 Awards to recognize outstanding women and institutions. An economic empowerment initiative will also be included, with Asha Microfinance Bank expected to provide grants to ten women.
