Volcengine leads China AI cockpit market with 45% share

According to a recent IDC report on the China automotive cloud market, Volcengine has secured a 45% market share in the AI cockpit solutions sector as of the first half of 2026. The AI cockpit market is entering a phase of large-scale growth, with its valuation reaching 710 million RMB in H1 2026 and projected to hit 4.71 billion RMB by 2030.

Volcengine’s leadership is driven by its Agentic AI architecture, including the ‘Doubao Cockpit Assistant’ and ‘AI Cockpit Suite.’ The Doubao assistant integrates vehicle control, navigation, and driving assistance, and is expected to debut in the Roewe Jaecoo 07. Currently, the Doubao large model is installed in over 7 million smart vehicles across more than 50 brands.

In the broader automotive public cloud infrastructure market, Alibaba remains the leader with a 45.1% share. Volcengine has risen to the second position in this segment, overtaking competitors such as Huawei, Tencent, and Baidu. Together, Alibaba and Volcengine control over 60% of the infrastructure market, as automakers increasingly consolidate their cloud providers to support autonomous driving and model iteration.
