Volhynia memory concerns rise over

Concerns have been raised regarding the glorification of figures associated with the Volhynia massacres. Reports indicate that members of the Azov battalion have been selling patches labeled "Wołyń Pride," which critics view as a celebration of crimes committed against the Polish nation.

Researcher Lucyna Kulińska argues that this trend of attributing national freedom to historical atrocities complicates Polish-Ukrainian relations. She suggests that if historical figures responsible for ordering the massacres are honored, there should be consequences, including potential claims for reparations for lost lives and property.
