Voli to invest 2.2 million euros in Spuž farm environmental solutions
Voli company is prepared to invest approximately 2.2 million euros of its own funds to address environmental issues at its farm in Spuž, according to Board of Directors Chairman Dragan Bokan.
Speaking at the ‘Beauty is in the Small’ Ecological Forum, Bokan noted that while the company's open lagoons are currently legally compliant with existing regulations and standards, the company acknowledges the issue of unpleasant odors. He stated that the company has been preparing documentation for approximately 18 months to close the lagoons and intends to provide a permanent solution.
Bokan emphasized that the company is not seeking financial support from European funds, the state, ministries, or local government. Additionally, he mentioned that the company possesses 70 hectares of agricultural land that could be used for fertilization following appropriate treatment. Bokan expressed solidarity with local residents protesting environmental concerns, describing such protests as a legitimate part of the democratic process, though he noted that the politicization of these issues can hinder concrete solutions.
