Volksbank Sauerland awards 100,000 euros to 73 aid organizations
Volksbank Sauerland has awarded a total of 100,000 euros to 73 rescue and aid organizations through its fourth “Heimathelden” (Home Heroes) initiative. The funding was distributed during a ceremony in Wormbach to support various groups in the Hochsauerlandkreis and Olpe districts.
Beneficiaries include fire departments, the German Life Saving Society (DLRG), the German Red Cross, the Technical Relief Agency (THW), and the Malteser. Among the highest grants of 3,000 euros each were awarded to the Volunteer Fire Department of Winterberg for a “First Responder” project and the Volunteer Fire Department of Wulmeringhausen for a thermal imaging deployment drone. Other grants ranged between 1,000 and 2,000 euros.
