Volkswagen and Fiat lead automotive activity in Brazil and Latin American exports
The Brazilian automotive market showed significant activity in September 2026, with projections suggesting total sales could exceed 230,000 units by month-end. In the passenger car segment, the Volkswagen Polo led with 9,954 units sold, followed by the BYD Dolphin Mini with 8,222 units and the Volkswagen T-Cross with 7,769 units.
In the light commercial vehicle segment, the Fiat Strada maintained a strong position with 13,985 units sold, representing a 12% increase from August. The Fiat Toro followed in second place with 4,888 units.
On a regional scale, Volkswagen has reached a milestone of 60,000 units exported from Brazil in 2026. Between January and July, the Volkswagen Tera was the brand's most exported model, with 21,404 units sent to 17 Latin American markets, including Ecuador, Argentina, and Mexico. The Volkswagen Saveiro followed as the second most exported model with 13,535 units.
