The Brazilian automotive market is seeing significant shifts in pricing and competition among entry-level and mid-range hatchbacks. Volkswagen has implemented substantial price reductions across its Polo lineup. Notably, the top-tier Polo Highline is being offered for R$ 109,000, representing a reduction of R$ 29,690 from its list price. This positioning places the turbocharged Highline version in direct competition with the BYD Dolphin Mini electric vehicle. Other versions, such as the Polo Track, have also seen discounts, with some dealerships offering the model for R$ 69,990.

In a similar segment, the Hyundai i20 Comfort is positioned as a budget-friendly option priced at R$ 99,990. The model features a 1.0 aspirated engine with a five-speed manual transmission. While it offers practical features and decent trunk capacity for urban use, reviews note limitations in interior finishing and acceleration performance compared to higher-end alternatives.
