Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz announce new electric vehicle models

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has expanded its ID. Buzz Cargo lineup with a new long-wheelbase model. This version increases the vehicle length by 250 mm, providing an additional 500 liters of cargo space. The model features dual sliding doors as standard, designed to accommodate Euro Pallets, and offers a maximum payload of 700 kg. Drivers can choose between rear-wheel drive with 286 hp or four-wheel drive with 340 hp, both supported by an 86 kWh battery.

In the passenger segment, Mercedes-Benz is introducing the all-electric GLA EQ Technology. The new model features a redesigned exterior with a smoked-glass grille and an increased wheelbase for improved rear passenger legroom. The vehicle includes a 410-liter trunk and a 107-liter front storage compartment. Technological updates include the MBUX Superscreen and a virtual assistant powered by generative AI.

The Mercedes-Benz GLA will be available in two primary electric versions: the GLA 250+ electric, offering up to 657 km of range with an 85 kWh battery, and the GLA 350 4MATIC electric, which provides all-wheel drive and 260 kW of power.
