Volkswagen Beetle maintains significant presence in Brazil
The Volkswagen Beetle remains a highly popular model among Brazilian drivers and collectors decades after its production ended. According to data from the National Transit Secretariat (Senatran), there were 1,939,314 Beetles registered in Brazil as of July. In Fortaleza alone, 13,995 units are currently in use.
Despite production ceasing permanently in 1996, the vehicle's longevity is supported by its popularity in the used car market; for instance, the 1974 model was among the top-selling classic cars on OLX last year. Experts emphasize that maintaining these vintage vehicles requires specific attention to mechanical components such as brakes, suspension, clutch, and the air-cooling system to ensure safety and longevity.
