Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus delivers 1,500 buses to Brazil's Ministry of Health

Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus has completed the record-time delivery of 1,500 micro-buses to the Brazilian Ministry of Health. These vehicles are part of the new ‘Caminhos da Saúde’ program, designed to transport patients within the Unified Health System (SUS) across all regions of Brazil.

The initiative aims to improve access to specialized medical consultations, exams, and treatments. This is particularly significant given that SUS patients travel an average of 145 km for specialized care, with an estimated 2 million patients expected to benefit from the new fleet.

During the Lat. Bus 2026 event, the company also highlighted its technological milestones, including the sale of 300 electric chassis and reaching a total production mark of 200,000 units over 33 years. The manufacturer continues to expand its portfolio of Euro 6 generation vehicles and connected services.
