Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus hits 200,000 bus chassis milestone

Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus (VWCO) has reached a production milestone, manufacturing its 200,000th bus chassis under the Volksbus division. The anniversary chassis was produced for a body built by Caio Induscar.

Celebrating 45 years of operations in Brazil, VWCO has established itself as a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer in South America. Since its inception in 1981 in São Bernardo do Campo, the company has produced over one million trucks and buses.

To expand its Volksbus portfolio for urban and suburban routes, VWCO introduced the 22.260S chassis. This model features a twin-steer axle configuration designed to support long 15-meter bodies while maintaining a turning radius suitable for city traffic. Powered by a 260-horsepower MAN diesel engine, the chassis is intended as an alternative to articulated buses for high-capacity transit lines.
