Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles celebrates 10 years at Września plant

The Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles plant in Września, Poland, has marked its 10th anniversary of production, having reached a milestone of 600,000 vehicles produced. The facility is currently the sole global production site for the Volkswagen Crafter and its sibling model, the MAN TGE.

As of 2025, the plant's annual production capacity exceeds 100,000 units, with a vehicle rolling off the assembly line every 163 seconds. The site employs over 3,000 people, contributing to a total of approximately 9,000 employees within the broader Volkswagen Poznań operations.

To prepare for the next generation of electric Crafter models, the plant is undergoing structural expansions. This includes the construction of two new production halls covering nearly 60,000 square meters, scheduled for completion in the second half of 2027. These facilities will focus on electric vehicle chassis production and battery logistics. The plant also utilizes approximately 630 robots and an on-site photovoltaic system consisting of over 31,000 modules to meet roughly 25% of its electricity needs.
