Volkswagen ID. Buzz completes 99,767-km electric world tour

A Volkswagen ID. Buzz electric minibus has completed a global tour, traveling 99,767 kilometers across 92 countries and six continents. The journey, which lasted approximately 445 days, began in Hanover, Germany, and concluded with the vehicle returning to the same location.

During the expedition, the vehicle underwent more than 300 charging cycles and was transported via container ship 16 times. Despite the diverse and challenging conditions encountered in various climates and terrains, the vehicle reportedly experienced no major technical issues with its primary electric drivetrain.

Following the tour, the vehicle underwent a technical inspection by TÜV Nord in Germany. The inspection found no mechanical or safety defects, and the battery health was measured to remain above 95%. The project aimed to demonstrate the durability of electric vehicles in diverse global environments.
