Volkswagen introduces new full-hybrid Golf and T-Roc models

Volkswagen has introduced new full-hybrid powertrains for the Golf and T-Roc models, offering a middle ground between mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid technologies. These systems do not require external charging, as the 1.6 kWh battery is recharged through regenerative braking and the internal combustion engine.

The powertrain utilizes a 1.5-liter TSI evo2 turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a hybrid module containing two electric motors. One motor drives the wheels while the second acts as a generator. This setup allows the vehicle to operate in three distinct modes, including pure electric driving at low speeds.

In Slovakia, pre-sales for these models began on September 1, with prices starting from €29,390. In Finland, the T-Roc Hybrid (125 kW) is expected to arrive at dealerships by the end of 2026, with prices starting at €42,881 for the Style trim level.
