Volkswagen launches Golf Hybrid in Spain, targeting Toyota Corolla

Volkswagen has introduced the Golf Hybrid, a non‑plug‑in HEV version of its compact Golf, to the Spanish market. The model pairs a 1.5 TSI evo2 gasoline engine with two electric motors, delivering 170 hp and 309 Nm, accelerating from 0‑100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and achieving a WLTP fuel consumption of 4.6 L/100 km with CO₂ emissions of 104 g/km.

The Golf Hybrid is offered in two trim levels, Style (starting at €35,800) and R‑Line (starting at €38,045), with pricing effective from August 2026. Standard equipment includes multiple airbags, LED headlights and taillights, a digital Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro, and an infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, among other features. Volkswagen positions the new hybrid as a direct competitor to the Toyota Corolla in the European market.
