Volkswagen launches hybrid T-Roc in Germany and faces Passat complaints in Brazil

Volkswagen is expanding its vehicle offerings in Europe and facing consumer feedback regarding older models in South America. In Germany, the new 100% hybrid T-Roc is now available for pre-sale. Unlike previous mild-hybrid versions produced at the Autoeuropa plant in Portugal, this full hybrid model can move the vehicle using only the electric motor at speeds up to 60 km/h. Germany remains the largest export market for Autoeuropa, receiving 26% of the plant's production.

In Brazil, where the Passat is no longer sold as a new vehicle, owners of used models have reported recurring mechanical issues. Common complaints include problems with the DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission, engine oil consumption, and manufacturing defects in the braking system. Some owners have reported significant repair costs, with one instance of a mechatronics repair estimated at R$ 35,000.
